Sinus Infection Symptoms

,

You don't always have to wait for sinus infection to strike before you take action. Actually, there are steps you can take to prevent this from happening and here are some. 1. Moisten the air in your home. You can do this by buying a humidifier or an air cooling unit as this regulates the temperature during cold and hot weather. 2. Aside from humidifiers or ac equipment, you may also install electrostatic filters that are designed to remove allergens in the air. 3. If you live in an area that's polluted, move somewhere else. You need to remember that sinus infections area also caused by strong fumes and chemicals that may irritate your sinus linings. 4. Drinking too much alcohol will trigger a sinus infection because it swells the nasal and sinus membranes which leave them exposed to irritation. This simply means that you should drink moderately. 5. Smoking also causes sinus infections because it irritates the sinus lining which causes bad drainage of the mucus and the sinus to congest. So, you must stop smoking and stay away from people who smoke.

6. If you travel often, you should cut down many times you have to fly from one destination to the next. This is because a bubble of air within the body expands as the air pressure in the plane reduces. At these times, this could cause the blockage of the Eustachian tubes causing your nose to clog during the plane's ascent or descent. If you should fly, be sure to bring with you a decongestant nose drop or inhaler and use this before the flight. 7. When you have a sinus infection, the easiest method to fight it's to stay hydrated. The same thing goes to prevent it by drinking lots of water, juice or any other liquid to replenish what was lost from the body. 8. You should also practice good hygiene since most sinus infections are caused by bacterial and viral infections. This means taking a shower two times a day and washing your hands with soap and water each time you go to the bathroom. You should also do this every time you sneeze because when you cover your mouth, the germs go to your hands.

9. For years, we have said that consuming dairy products will keep our bones strong. But studies have shown that too much can thicken your mucus and cause nasal passages to narrow down which results to headache and pain. 10. You should also get a flu shot every year. 11. Drinking liquids should also be followed with eating good food especially fruits and vegetables. After all, these are rich in antioxidants that will boost your immune system and help your body resist infection. 12. Lastly, stress makes us prone to sinusitis and many other infections. So we should get sufficient rest like 8 hours at least every night. 13. You should also take some multivitamins and supplements to add to your daily supplement. You can prevent sinus infections from happening so that you don't have to call in sick and miss a day at work or school. It takes a little effort to take these safety measures which happen to be much cheaper than going to your doctor and buying over the counter medication. ------ Want to find out more about for sinus infection, then visit http://www.allsinustreatments.com/ on how to choose the best sinus treatmentfor your needs.

Ways of Treating Your Asthma Symptoms

,

Asthma causes people to gasp for air as they experience bronchospasms and airflow obstruction. It is a painful and debilitating illness but it can be controlled and the symptoms reversed fairly easily. People have their choice of treatments, namely steroidal inhalers, all natural medicines, Respitrol, for instance, and home remedies. Asthma symptoms can be naturally lessened to begin with by avoiding any stressors, like allergens, cigarette smoke and pest sprays and by using an inhaler, which sends corticosteroids into the body, opening the airways. Many people do not want to have to use chemicals and medications like this. These things will, however, make it much less painful to breathe and will keep away asthma attacks, which should be a top priority for someone who experiences them frequently. One of the best natural methods to fighting asthma is to determine if there are certain triggers that can be avoided and doing your best to avoid them. Try to avoid job positions that might expose you to triggers. For instance, working in landscaping opens you up to many environmental asthmatic hazards, like grass clippings, dust in the air and chemical sprays. People try several home remedies for asthma attacks, as well. Try a steam bath. The heat of the steam opens the skin pores and clears congested lungs. Some foods are good for this ailment, such as honey, garlic, radishes and lemon juice. Not all at the same time, though. There are lists on the internet of natural home remedies that can be attempted but you must always be safe about any new methods you introduce to your system. Taking all natural medicines like Respitrol is a method that many people try as an alternative to chemically based steroid medications. Medicines like this help relieve and prevent the symptoms of asthma while replenishing the body with vital nutrients it may be missing.

Asthma Symptoms in Children and Adults

,

The first and foremost thing to do if you think you have contracted asthma is to get with your doctor as soon as possible. If you have signs like coughing, wheezing and tightness in the chest, it is better to catch it sooner rather than later. No one wants to suffer from a severe asthma attack which can be deadly if not treated immediately. Not every child or adult will have the same symptoms of asthma. Children are smaller and are more vulnerable to severe asthma, where as an adult has fully developed immune system and has a higher threshold then that of a child. Asthma doesn’t target just the young and old it targets anyone with the heredity genes or those who are susceptible to allergic reactions to pollens and dust. Once you have contracted asthma it could be months before you really see any signs that you have it. Symptoms will slowly get worse and at that time the symptoms could be put off as a cold or flu. These symptoms must be watched closely. If they get worse it is time to see your doctor and find out what is going on inside you. The most common of asthma attacks are mild ones. But don’t let those fool you because the onset of a severe asthma attack could be ready to strike you at any time. Your best line of defense is knowledge about the disease and how to protect yourself when attacks arise.

Causes of asthma are still widely unknown. No one has a definitive answer as to what will cause it and it continues to affect millions and millions of people. Some things can enhance your ability to get asthma such as smoking while you’re pregnant, being around second hand smoke as a child or an adult for long periods of time will have long term effects. So if you are one of the millions who suffer from asthma there is a way to control your asthma symptoms. Your doctor can prescribe you with prescription drugs and an inhaler to calm your lungs in the midst of an asthma attack. Something to always remember is that prescription drugs and inhalers come with all sorts of side effects. When my son was diagnosed with asthma, we got him on prescription drugs, an inhaler and also nebulizer treatments. Our doctor did not go through the dangers of the side effects of prolonged use of these strong medications. We found out a few months after giving him his medications that his inhaler would have robbed him of his ability to have children later on in life. Don’t you think that is something you would WANT to know when your child of 4 years old is put on a strong medication? I think so.

Asthma is the leading chronic disease in children. As children get this disease it does carry into adulthood as well. The main problem with this disease is that we are all about controlling the symptoms and not focusing on eliminating the root cause. There are natural ways to control asthma but there are also natural ways to help your body actually eliminate it. There is no cure as far as medications are concerned. The only cure there is for any illness and disease is your body. With the right tools your body can overcome anything, even asthma.
